As Summer slips away...

I've looked at clouds from all sides now as the song goes...more so in the last 5 and a half years here in the La Alpujarra region of Andalucía. We are treated to just the most perfect sunrises, sunsets and clouds with a colour range like a Dulux swatch card!

After a hot hot hot Summer, with high temperatures and sticky nights - not to mention the damn Mozzies - August went out with a bang. Thunder and lightening, torrential rain - showing for one night only! This morning saw the best electrical storm of the decade...not here in Murtas but our view of Mt Gador and Africa- the storm was all on the other continent but woke Stan from his slumber at 5am...I slept through and caught the end of it around 7am.

This evening we're off to watch UD ALMERÍA play against Girona up at Bar Atalyón...normally we would have the big screen outside while we sat around and cheered or boo-ed...looking at the ominous black covering I think we might be inside tonight...

I do hope all these spectacular natural fireworks are only temporary - it's way too early for Autumn. Also, our fiesta, San Miguel, is the last weekend of the month. We look forward to seeing Carole, Pete and family and some sunshine is definitely ordered...

Casa Duende
is still free for that weekend, any takers?!

So, whether you planning a weekend away, considering Spain of course!, or just relaxing, then have a nice weekend everyone!
